TRAVEL SCHOLARSHIPS to Workshop on Undergraduate Education and Image Computation June 16, 2000 - Hilton Head Island, South Carolina The Workshop on Undergraduate Education and Image Computation is being held on Friday June 16, 2000. This is the day after the Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR) '00 conference, in the same location (Hilton Head Island, South Carolina). The workshop is sponsored by the Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence Technical Committee of the IEEE Computer Society. Criteria for selecting travel scholarship recipients are: 1. The recipient may not be an author of a paper at CVPR '00. 2. The applicant must be a tenure-track or tenured faculty member, in the 2000/01 academic year, of a US university or college. 3. The applicant must have a statement from their Department chair stating that their teaching responsibility does or will include courses that could involve image computation. 4. Highest priority will be give to faculty at primarily undergraduate teaching institutions that serve traditionally under-represented groups. Next highest priority will be given to faculty at primarily undergraduate institutions in general, followed by faculty at PhD-granting institutions in general. 5. At most, one recipient per institution will be awarded. Up to twenty-five travel scholarships of approximately $1,200 may be awarded. Recipients are expected to attend CVPR and the workshop and to participate in workshop discussion sessions.
